Poetry Pantry - #164

In the dimly lit hut
The little fairy blows the white conch shell
And lights her tiny oil lamp
Makes sure her deity is garlanded
And sandal paste put on its forehead
She offers sweetmeats on banana leaves
They will become Prasad bearing blessings
She closes her eyes and sings
The soulful music lights the celestial lamps
Every atom vibrates with devotion
She becomes Prayer herself

Rising fragrance from the incense stick
Envelops the devotee’s world
